As most of our website visitors never see our press advertisements we thought we would include a few here. Mostly we use English language expatriate magazines which have a circulation area up to 50 miles from Cantueso, as this is about the maximum distance customers are willing to travel for a meal. In fact about 80% of our diners have a journey time of more than fifty minutes.
Only rarely do we translate these ads into other languages because our style relies on irony and the subtlety of the English language. In the case of our oft repeated headline “A View to Match the Food” it would be very different if we had “Food to match the View.” And when we translated “There is no such Thing as a free Lunch” into Spanish it lost much of its impact.
